How to do it

Why a phone photo shows sideways elsewhere

Phones often save the pixels in one orientation and add an EXIF tag saying “rotate me”. Some apps obey it and some don’t. Browsers apply the tag when opening a photo, and CropMaster writes the pixels out already turned, so the result looks the same everywhere.

Why straightening costs you the edges

A tilted photo needs a bigger canvas to hold it, and the extra area is empty corners. To get a clean rectangle back you have to zoom in. Drag the angle to see how fast the loss grows.
