How to do it
- Take a photo facing the camera against a plain light wall, lit evenly.
- Choose your country.
- Scale and move the frame so the top of the head touches the upper guide and the chin sits on the lower one, with the nose on the centre line.
- Download the photo, or a 4 × 6 in sheet to print at any photo counter.
Before you print
Rules also cover things a crop can’t fix: a neutral expression, eyes open, no glasses (US and many others), even lighting with no shadows, and a plain white or off-white background. Check your country’s official page before you submit. The guides here follow the published head-size ranges, but the official office has the final say.
