All image processing happens 100% client-side in your browser using HTML5 Canvas API:
- Your images never leave your device
- No images are uploaded to our servers
- No images are stored on our servers
- All processing happens locally in your browser's memory
- When you close the page, all data is cleared
History Feature
The Crop History feature stores data using IndexedDB:
- Data is stored locally in your browser only
- Never sent to any server
- You can clear history anytime
- Clearing browser data removes all history
AI Features (Optional)
CropMaster includes optional AI-powered features that enhance your experience:
AI Background Removal & Smart Crop
These features use Vercel AI Gateway to securely route requests to OpenAI's GPT-5-nano model:
When You Use AI Features:
- • Your image is sent through Vercel AI Gateway to OpenAI's API for analysis
- • AI Provider: OpenAI (via Vercel AI Gateway)
- • Model Used: GPT-5-nano (gpt-5-nano)
- • Data Sent: Only the image file itself - no personal data, metadata, or identifying information
- • Processing Purpose: Analyzing image composition to suggest optimal crop areas or remove backgrounds
- • Data Retention: OpenAI does not store or retain your images (per their API terms)
- • Consent Required: You must explicitly consent before each use via checkbox confirmation
Vercel AI Gateway Benefits:
- • Secure, encrypted transmission of your images
- • No API keys exposed in your browser
- • Additional layer of privacy protection
- • Compliant with data protection standards
Important:
- • These features are completely optional - you never have to use them
- • All other CropMaster features work 100% client-side without any external APIs
- • Clear consent dialog appears before your image is sent to any external service
- • You can always use manual cropping and editing tools instead
- • AI features are clearly marked with "BETA" badges
